بِـسْـمِ اللهِ الرَّحـْمـنِ الرَّحِـيـمِ
In the Name of Allah The All Merciful, The Most Merciful.
1. O you who are enrobed,
قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ
2. Rise, then warn,
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ
3. And your Lord then magnify,
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ
4. And your clothes then purify,
وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ
5. And the foul then abandon.
وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ
6. And make not (others) obligated expecting abundance.
وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ
7. And towards your Lord be patient.
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ
8. So, when trumped into is the Trumpet...
فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
9. ...then that day, is a difficult day,
عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ
10. ...on the repudiators, not easy.
ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا
11. Leave Me and who I created single.
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَّمْدُودًا
12. And I made for him extensive wealth...
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا
13. ...and witnessing sons.
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا
14. And I smoothed for him, smoothing!
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ
15. Then, he covets that I increase.
كَلَّا إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِآيَاتِنَا عَنِيدًا
16. Nay! Assuredly he was ever to Our signs most stubborn.
سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا
17. I will exhaust him, Escalating!
إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
18. Assuredly he thought and evaluated.
فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
19. So killed be he! How he evaluated!
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
20. Then... Killed be he! How he evaluated!
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ
21. Then he looked.
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
22. Then he grimaced and sneered.
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ
23. Then he turned on his tail and was arrogant.
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ
24. Then he said, " Indeed, this is but trackable sorcery."
إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ
25. "Indeed, this is but speech of the humans."
سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ
26. I will roast him (in) Saqar.
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سَقَرُ
27. And what realizes to you what Saqar is?
لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ
28. It neither keeps nor leaves.
لَوَّاحَةٌ لِّلْبَشَرِ
29. (It is) scorching to the skin.
عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ
30. Over it are nineteen...
وَمَا جَعَلْنَا أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَائِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِيمَانًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواالْكِتَابَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاء وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَاهِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ
31. ...and We made not the companions of the fire but angels. And We made not their number but as a test to the ones who repudiated, so the ones who were given the book ascertain, and so the ones who have faith increase in faith; and suspect not do the ones who were given the book and the faithful.
And so the ones who have, in their cores, sickness and the repudiators would say, "What did Allah want with this as an example?"
Thus Allah deviates whoever He wills and guides whoever He wills and none knows the troops of your Lord except Him, and it is naught but a reminder to the humans.
كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ
32. Nay! By the moon,
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ
33. ...and the night as it turns on its tail,
وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ
34. ...and the morning when it illuminates.
إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ
35. Assuredly it is one of the greatest.
نَذِيرًا لِّلْبَشَرِ
36. A warning to the humans,
لِمَن شَاء مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ
37. ...for whoever of you wills, to go forward or delay.
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ
38. Each soul, to what it earned, is bonded...
إِلَّا أَصْحَابَ الْيَمِينِ
39. ...except the Companions of the Right (side).
فِي جَنَّاتٍ يَتَسَاءلُونَ
40. In gardens, they are questioning...
عَنِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
41. ...about the malefactors.
مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ
42. "What set you in Saqar?"
قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ
43. They said, "We were not of the praying (ones)."
وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ
44. "And we were not feeding the needy."
وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ
45. "And we were immersing with the immersed."
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ
46. "And we were belying in the Day of Requital..."
حَتَّى أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ
47. "...until arrived (to) us did The Certainty."
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ
48. So it benefits them not, the intercession of the intercessors.
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ
49. So what is with them (that), from the reminder, they are averted?
كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ
50. As if they are rushing donkeys,
فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍ
51. ...fleeing from a lion.
بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَى صُحُفاً مُّنَشَّرَةً
52. Rather, each individual from them wants to be given displayed sheets.
كَلَّا بَل لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ
53. Nay! Rather, they fear not the later (life).
كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ
54. Nay! Assuredly it is a reminder.
فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ
55. So whoever wills, remembers it.
وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاء اللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
56. And they remember not, except that Allah wills; He is the Holder of veneration and the Holder of forgiveness.
