My Internship

Bismillahirrahmanirrahiim...

Alhamdulillah wa syukru lillah. My application to pursue my internship program at Global Peace Mission Malaysia (GPM) has been accepted. I received the offer letter two days ago. Getting a bit excited now and yet anxious to embark on this new experience. The job-scope is rather overwhelming as I haven't meet my coordinator for the brief explanation about it. Dear Naheed:

Assalamu’alaikum,

Internship

We pray that you are in the best of health and always under the protection of Allah swt.

With reference to your letter of March 12, 2010, we are pleased to offer you an internship position as Community Mobilization Officer at GPM.

Your duties and responsibilities include:

1. Liaison with communities whom GPM has made intervention

2. Mobilization of volunteers among university students to be involved in voluntary work at GPM.

3. Facilitate the implementation of Jomtani! Program among Jombaca! households

4. Carry out English Language Programs already planned by GPM

5. Start a new program called “Learn English through Drama” among Jombaca! children.

6. Any other duties which may be assigned by the management of GPM from time to time.

The period of this internship is for eleven weeks from April 12 to June 27, 2010. The position requires 40 hours per week and you will be paid RM 100 weekly.

You must be willing to work both inside the office as well as in the field. Your schedule will be finalized after discussion once you report for duty.

During this internship you will report directly to Wan Ab Rahman Wan Hussin, Coordinator GPM Programs.
